Hi folks…….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
‘Subramaniyapuram’ has been running to packed cinema houses ever since it was released in July 2008. It is the story of friendship and its ultimate consequences has run to full houses, beating even bigger productions that boasted of bigger stars.
‘Subramaniyapuram’, set in small-town Madurai of the early 1980s, enthralled adults who came of age in the era of bell-bottoms, big beards and clashing colors. It was released in a small number of theatres initially but seeing the reception it got distributors and theatre owners alike decided to bring in more number of prints and squeeze in more shows.
The film has indeed tasted stupendous success throughout Tamil Nadu, all without much of the big budget publicity that marks extravagant productions. Following all this unexpected success, the overwhelmed cast and crew of Subramaniyapuram celebrated its 100 days function at Sathyam Cinemas. One of the main highlights of the evening was when Belly Raj and Deepa Mariam crooned the ever green lovesong “Kangal Irandal…” from the movie.
